Dr. Suzanne Bellinger

Dr. Bellinger began her career at Allen College as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor and have since advanced to the role of Associate Professor. Her nursing journey started in 1994 as a labor and delivery nurse, and she currently works in the Birth Center alongside her role at Allen College. She completed a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Grand Canyon University, Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Allen College, and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Mount Mercy University. She is deeply passionate about the care of pregnant and postpartum women, as well as their newborns. She holds two certifications in Obstetrics and is actively engaged with organizations that focus on nursing, leadership, and obstetric and neonatal nursing.

Dr. Bellinger is activity involved with the Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health and the Iowa Perinatal Quality Care Collaborate to determine ways to improve maternal and newborn care in Iowa and world-wide.

What do you enjoy most about teaching at Allen College?
I love being able to be a part of student’s journey to becoming a nurse. I love being a nurse, especially an OB nurse, and being able to share that passion with future nurses is amazing!
